Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

 

The objectives of this thesis were to study the learning activities that supported to moral values of the students at Kusawangsamakkee School, Nampong district, Khonkaen province, to study moral behavior of the students, and to study the process in organizing the learning activities that supported to moral values of the students, director and teachers at Kusawangsamakkee School, Nampong district, Khonkaen province. However, this thesis was conducted based on qualitative research methodology, collecting the data from the Pali canon, related document to the moral conduct, including field work approach and content analysis.

The result of the study found that:

The learning activities that supported to the moral values of the students at Kusawangsamakkee School were the activities that focused on fostering the tired relationship between student, community, village, temple and school. For instant, the practice of moral conduct (Pabca-sila), the holy abidings (Brahmavihara), the path to success (Iddhipada), and the virtues for a good household life (Gharavasa-dhamma), all these Buddhist principles, in the same time, supported to maintain Buddhism in the long run. More importantly, the students truly understood the moral conduct and engaged in such values in which eventually brought them a ton of benefit to themselves, to school, community, and country at the whole.        

For the moral behavior of the students, the study found that the students expressed  their moral conduct mostly through bodily actions such as playing respect to the Buddha  and that of their parents and teachers, practicing meditation, not engaged in making harm to the others, participated in Buddhist auspicious occasion and moral ethical training, and seeking to dedicate themselves to the benefit of the society.   

However, for the processes in administrative management of the learning activities that supported to moral values of the student, the study found that the school should supported in organizing the various learning activities that suited to the individual difference and focusing to the mutual relationship. Teachers should give advice, not only the academic field but also taught them the art of righteous livings. Moreover, the learning activities should supported to unity among the groups of the students, including responsibility, punctuality, and the law of the nation.

                        Last but not at the least, for the process of organizing the learning activities that supported to the moral values, the study found that the teachers at Kusawangsamakkee School   had very systematic methods in organizing the activities. Moreover, they were very concerned to the students and wholeheartedly contributed in organizing the learning activities. Furthermore, the school also was very concerned about these useful learning activities together with the supports of the community. Therefore, they were very successful with remarkable result and desire characteristic in accorded with the objectives of the Basic Education Core Curriculum.
