An Application of Buddhadhamma for Online Social Network Use of Personnels at Umong Subdistrict Municipality, Muang District, Lamphun Province

Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

 

 

            The objectives of the study were: 1) to examine the application of Buddhadamma for using online social networks of personnel in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province. 2) to compare the application of Buddhadamma for using online social networks of personnel in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province, classified by personal factors. 3) to explore the problems , the obstacles and recommendations of the application of Buddhadamma for using online social networks of personnel in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province and 4) to investigate the application of Buddhadamma for using online social networks of personnel in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province according to Saraniyadhamma.  

            This research was a mixed research method. The samples were 190 people using random sampling method, the sample size was determined by R.V.Krejcie & Morgan Table form the 125 people by drawing. The data was collected by questionnaires. The data analysis was done with social sciences SPSS. The statistics used were values of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Hypothesis test with T – test, F-test. It is also analyzed by the one-way Anova, Least Significant Difference: LSD. An open-ended question that shows the problems, obstacles and suggestions, the researchers provide the issues for an open-ended questionnaire, then analyzed by using frequency and interviews, data grouping, the interview point and content analysis technique.

 

The findings of the research were as follows:

            1. Most of the personals are female for 52 average 34.4, 41-50 ages for 43 average 34.3, lower bachelor degree for 55 average 43.2, marital status for 82 average 65.6, and income 10,000 – 15,000 Baht for 56 average 44.8.

            2. The personals have the application of Buddhamma for using online     social networks. The overall was at the high level (= 4.00), when considering              into each aspect it was found that Mettakayakamma, Mettavacikamma, Mettamanokamma, Sadharanabhogi, Sila-samannata and Ditthi-samannata was at the high level.

 

            3. The comparison of the application level of Buddhamma for using online social networks in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun Province. The hypothesis test that different analysis according to classify by personal factors, including gender, age, education, status and income, it found that the overall gender and status was not different then it denied the hypothesis. Independent variable, age, education and income was statistically significant different at the 0.05 level then accepting the hypothesis.      

 

            4. The study of the problems, obstacles and recommendation concern with online social networks in Umong sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province. The point of the problems, obstacles were the facial expressions and impolite manner while using online media, showing emotion, retraining oneself, selfish and cooperation with others have to conflict with people some time, situation and opportunity. In the point of recommendation was making conscious to oneself to give opinion, calm down and should get the most out of benefit, good story and real medium.

            5. The way of Buddhamma application for using online social networks according to Saraniyadhamma found that user online social networks, should check the correct data for no conflict or harming others by do not intend, do not gossip, do not damage to others, they should be built impression or good feeling to each other more than making enemies on networks. When do they meet a good thing, should be shared to others, which is a good thing, should be done. On the contrary, which is a bad thing, should not share or connect with others, they should have to stop by persisting in virtue, morality and ethics in using online social networks.
