ABSTRACT

The objectives of this study were 1) to study overview of the Library management according to the Sangahavatthuin Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus, 2) to compare the opinions towards the Library management according to the Sangahavatthu in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus as classified by personal factors, and 3) to study problems and recommendations on the Management Library according to the Sangahavatthu in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus. This study descriptive research The questionnaires for quantitative data were collected by surveying. The population consisted of 226 undergraduates in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus. The sample size was determined by using Krejcie & Morgan Table and used simple random sampling.Significance the corresponding confidence level was 95% .The statistical analyses used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, F-test, and One-way ANOVA test using Least Significant Difference (LSD) were applied. Moreover the qualitative data were collected by in-depth interview from 7 key informants and analysed the qualitative data by content analysis.

The findings of the research were found that:

1. Overview of the Library management according to the Sangahavatthu in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus had 4 aspects including information resources, library service, environment, and personnel. A whole was at high level. Considering each aspect, the highest mean score was personnel and the lowest mean score was information resources.

2. Comparing the opinions towards the Library management according to the Sangahavatthu in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus, there was no statistical difference (significance level of 0.05) and the assumption was not met. Considering each aspect, the undergraduates’ opinions as classified by age, discipline, and college year had no statistical difference (significance level of 0.05).

3. Approaches for the Library management according to the Sangahavatthu in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhonsawan Campus were recommended as following: should provide quality and enough resources to the needs of library users, shouldbe analyzed according to the universal library system to facilitate the user, should make manuals to guide the steps for using information resources, should labeled book categories within the shelves, should manage and make the good atmosphere in the library for being an appropriate learning and researching source, should speak welland useful to the library users, and should be consistent and able to control their own emotions very well.
