Abstract

Abstract

                 The aims of this research were 1) to study the administration according to IV Brahmavihara-dharma (brahmavihāra, sublime states of the mind) in the Basic Education Schools under the Office of Primary Educational Service Area 2, Roi-Et province; 2) to compare such administration; 3) to study the ways to promote and develop the mentioned administration. This study employed a mixed research methodologies: 1) for the quantitative research, its samples were 355 educational administrators and teachers in the schools, selected by stratified random sampling and simple random sampling; in this process, the tools used was a questionnaire with its reliability value of .68 and the obtained data were analyzed to find the statistic scores of Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (Independent Sample), f-test (One-way ANOVA) and Scheffe’ Method; 2) for the qualitative research, the target group included 6 educational administrators and 6 teachers, selected by the purposive sampling, the tool used to collect the data was an interview form and the obtained data were analyzed by focusing on its content to find the conclusion.


                 The research results were as follows:

                 1) The statistic score of the studied administration in overall was at a high level; the highest score can be seen in the aspect of ‘ administration according to muditā (sympathetic joy)’, followed by that of karuā (compassion), ‘upekkhā (equanimity) and mettā (loving kindness) respectively.

                 2) Based on the comparison of the administration of the studied schools, according to the personal factors of the samples classified by the samples’ factors: positions, education and work experience, it was found that the samples’ opinions on the administration were statistically indifferent.

            3) The ways to promote and develop the administration according to the dhamma were: 1) in the administration according to loving kindness, the curriculum development should be done in relations to the school contexts; the personnel development should be organized in terms of its academic affairs; the study visit of the successful schools should be arranged; 2) in the administration according to compassion, worthiness of budget allowance should be carefully considered; the network should be created and the schools should have their own educational fund; 3) in the administration according to sympathetic joy, the personnel capacities should be analyzed before assigning them works, the encouragement activities should be organized, appropriate welfares and payment should be fair; 4) in the administration according to equanimity, satisfaction, diligence, responsibility, careful work consideration should be raised; work assignment suitable to the personnel skills should be done.
