Development of Teaching and Learning Innovation of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools, General Education Division (Buddhist Educational Administration)

Abstract

The objectives of this research were; 1) to study state of teaching and learning innovation in Phrapariyattidhamma schools, General Education Division,
2) to develop teaching and learning innovation in Phrapariyattidhamma schools, General Education Division, and 3) to propose teaching and learning innovation in Phrapariyattidhamma schools, General Education Division. The mixed research methodology was used in the study. The qualitative data were collected from documents, in-depth interviews with 5 key-informants, and focus group discussions with 10 experts and then analyzed by content analysis. The quantitative data were collected from 556 samples for innovation development and from 226 samples for innovation assessment in utility, feasibility, propriety, and accuracy. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation and Priority Needs Index Modified (PNImodified)

The results of the study found that;

1. The teaching and learning innovation was classified into 2 types; teaching and learning media, and teaching and learning methods. The most necessity of them was that; 1) In teaching and learning media, they were (1) skills training set, (2) tale story set,  and (3) game set, and in teaching and learning methods, they were (1) activity model, (2) 4 MAT model, and (3) CIPPA model.  

2. Development of teaching and learning innovation consisted of;
1) Components i.e. (1) Lead analysis in the analysis of students, course contents, time and duration, and examination paper, (2) Process of contents, activity, and graphic/program, (3) Product of lessons, exercises, and try-out, (4) Application of actual use, measurement and evaluation, and publication. 2) Teaching and learning innovation consisted of; (1) media innovation, and (2) teaching and learning management innovation.

3. The result of teaching and learning innovation examination in 4 aspects was at a high level overall and in aspects. The highest level was on Utility, followed by Feasibility, Accuracy, and Propriety respectively.
