Abstract

The thesis entitled “The integration of Buddhadhamma in the Bio-way project for sustainable development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mae Mo district, Lampang province” consisted of three objectives. The study aimed: 1) to study the Bio-way in nowadays’ context, 2) to study the Bio-way project for sustainable development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mae Mo district, Lampang province, and 3) to analyze the integration of Buddhadhamma in the Bio-way project for sustainable development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mae Mo district, Lampang province. This is a qualitative research. The research area was the community around the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in Mae Mo district with the specific area scope in Baan Sop Chang community of Na Sak sub-district. The research target groups were 1) 3 active staffs from the Bio-way project for sustainable development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mae Mo district, 2) 1 local leader from Baan Sop Chang community of Na Sak sub-district and 10 farming leaders, and 3) the community development and learning center group e.g. staffs of the Non-Formal Education and skilled villagers in agriculture in total of 2 persons. The research instruments were 1) participant observation, 2) in-depth interview, and 3) group conversation. The data was created through the descriptive analysis and synthesis.

The results of the research were as follows:

1) The Bio-way was based on the eco-friendly concept which could be applied in daily life such as activities on social and economics for the purpose of sustainable development.

2) The Bio-way project for sustainable development of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Mae Mo district, Lampang province was carried out through the activity on promoting ways of non-toxic agriculture in Baan Sop Chang community.

3) The nature law of all existences and beings was impermanence (to arise, to exist and to perish) and everything was independent with other things according to the law of cause and effect. Humans, therefore, realized the values of circulation and use of resources efficiently through the way of wisdom.
