Abstract

Research study "The Development of Buddhist Self-Reliant Community   Plan in Lamphun" has 3 objectives: 1) to study the concept and learn the self-reliance lesson of the community in Lamphun Province, 2) to study the concepts, theories and principles that support the development of community plans 3) to propose a model for the developing self-reliant community plans along the Buddhist principles in Lamphun Province.  Its methodology is used a qualitative research. Data are collected by in-depth interviews, the Group discussion, and the participatory observation. It is analyzed by the contents analysis and is presented by descriptive report. The results are that:

1) On the concept and learn the self-reliance lesson of the community in Lamphun Province, the Community development has utilized the implementation of development methods in the community, each of them has its own philosophy, concepts, principles, methods and practices that are unique.

2) On to study the concepts, theories and principles that support the development of community plans, there are many theories used in community development by adhere to the principle of dignity and the potential of the people It adheres to the principle of self-reliance of people and to the principles of public participation in accordance with the community plan. The study on the community self-reliance lessons of Ban – Pae – Ton – Yang - Ngam and Ban - Pa – Heiw. The concept emphasizes participation and unity. The work process have organized in the empirical system with the help of community leaders, village committee members. On the successful outcome of village development, it leads a village to be a sufficiency economy village, the cultural tourism villages. The indicators of community development Is a village of self-sufficiency economy. It can be a cultural tourism village. The people in the village have good health. They are many Dhamma principles that are supporting to the development of community plans such as the 4 Thitthamamikattha, 5 precepts, 4 Iddhipada virtues and so on.

3) On the propose a model for the developing self-reliant community plans along the Buddhist principles in Lamphun Province, it consists of vision, mission, potential, village strategic issues for village development.  The physical self-community plan is a Buddhist integrated community management model. Integrating Buddhist psychology and local wisdom in promoting holistic health of family and society. The Monk pays a visit to village. The healing fever Exercise on the Buddhistic sports and festivals those run by the Temple Home and school. Self-reliant community plan in the sacrament is the 5 baptism market project and the village preserving 5 precepts, promoting the 5 precepts of families, building social immunity in the Buddhist culture dimension. Reduce lent Worth the land of the earth Psychological self-reliance community plan is a meditation practice program for the community. Promote emotional development. Buddhist minds in the community Good mental health, Shewe, praying, traveling to the Lord Buddha, raising temples to house, self-reliant community plan is Dharma project, lecture every 2nd Saturday of the month, listening to the morning sermon every Sunday through the voice Bring the Dhamma teachings according to Buddhist principles to families and communities. Moral seedlings and promoting Thai values ​​for 12 reasons. Enter the temple, listen to Dharma on the Visakha Bucha Day, Makha Bucha Day, Lent Day and Buddhist Lent Day.
