Abstract

The objectives of research paper were (1) to study achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province, (2) to compare the opinion toward achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province, classified by personal data, and (3) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions for development of achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi. It was the mixed research method that the quantitative research used the questionnaire as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 187 students in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province. The statistics were used for the data analysis through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference: LSD. And the qualitative research had the documentary analysis and interview as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 12 key informants and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique.

              The findings of research were:

             1. Achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi. Overall, that in highest at mean of 3.61, when considering the aspect found that in high level all aspect. The techniques aspect was at high at mean of 3.62. The course content aspect was at high at mean of 3.66. The teaching and learning activities aspect was at high at mean of 3.53. The medium of instruction aspect was at high at mean of 3.59. The evaluation aspect was at high at mean of 3.68.

             2. The comparison for opinion of student toward achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi, classified by personal data found that sex has the significantly at 0.05, the hypothesis was accepted. Those personal statuses results not different.

             3. The problems and obstacles of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi, as following; some students do not pay attention, lack of activities outside the classroom, some moral teaching monks use low voice, some moral teaching monks do not have pre-test. And, the suggestions for development of achievement of teaching Buddhism subject of moral teaching monks in secondary schools in Banpong district, Ratchaburi, as following; educating the moral teaching monks of the content of the course covers techniques for the control classroom and the teaching of psychology, the moral teaching monks should use a variety of teaching techniques and methods to stimulate the interest of students, should be improved curriculum by focusing on the faith to the students to put into practice in daily life than learning to cover a lot of content, moral teaching monks should allow students to ask questions or do not understand the subject, takes 10-15 minutes during the school hours for the problem, the moral teaching monks and education institutions should jointly organized educational trips can be arranged for students to participate in the religious children Buddhist camp every year for the students to learn from self experience, old moral teaching monks should use an amplifier device, should be taught to use modern materials such as computers, multimedia projectors and pictures, to inspire the students, moral teaching monks should the evaluation basic knowledge of students prior to the test, which is a closed-ended questions or open-ended questions, and then synthesize the information for planning instruction, improve the format of the test for evaluating the nature of the question to get an understanding, to the applications in daily life.
