Abstract

From the Western theories and concept about the learning process, it is found that they are the theories about Western learning process of the study of systematic human behavior by concreting the scientific experiment. The concepts of learning process derived from composition are the stimulus, the sense the organ such as eye, ear, nose tongue and body, the previous experience and the interpretation of the sensation. When the human beings accept the stimulus, their brain will think over the previous experience as to what original sensation and lead their brain to respond against stimulus perception which cause of behavior change lead to perception and learning happened. Therefore, when they encounter the new stimula, they will search the information from the previous experience. If it is found, it is called as recognition and if it is not found it is called as forgetting. So, the brain is the centre of thought and is the important thing for human beings’ learning.

Buddhism is of the concept that the learning process derives from the compositions which are the internal sense-fields namely:- eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and mind, whereas the external sense-fields namely form, sound, smell, taste, tangible objects, mind objects and sense-awareness which are the knowledge derived from the internal sense-fields striking against the external sense-fields. When the three compositions coincided they lead to contact which becomes the basis of human learning and the penetration. The information into sense-fields which will be information or knowledge must pass through the interpretation with mind by being evaluated to be the knowledge and to communicate with environments around. Buddhism, thus, gives precedence to the mind and the emotion perception which is the particular condition of mind that cannot be measured by scientific method such as the anger, the satisfaction, elation etc.

From the Study of Learning Process in Buddhism it is found that Buddhism gives precedence to the look of life according to the principles of The Four Noble Truths that the suffering or the problem of life derived from craving, which is the result of contact. The craving can be put out by mindfulness which can happen by one’s own training process on three sides such as morality development, concentration development and wisdom development with the factor of learning process in faith with true friends who can guide to analyze and lead to learning process. After that, the person brings oneself to the learning process by practising and considering all the things independently with critical reflection. When a person has critical reflection, the Right Understanding will arise and lead him to the Noble Eightfold Path in learning process happening and related to be efficiency in process and are related to the Noble Eightfold Path to support the learning and accomplishing the aims which are the 4 virtues conducive to growth controlling faculties and 5 powers all of which give the 5 results in developing the learning process to the step of 7 gradual purifications. The thing to use for checking the rightness of learning process is human could take the internal sense-fields with environment around correctly and be careful to protect defilements control of the mind when acknowledge anything.

The learning is using the internal sense-fields within the human’s body is related to all the related things rightly and must be in the composition with systematic attention and Right View, which is related to the expression in body and speech including the control of the mind. It is the beginning of the relationship with material element and social or external oneself and leading to the mental relation that is the calmness inside the training of mind to avoid from the power of the defilements, the craving and the attachment with tranquility, meditation and insight meditation up to the development of right wisdom according to The Four Noble Truths which help one to see all the things rightly up to being able to destroy defilements and get freedom from suffering. The relationship in mental behavior and wisdom as said has influence in human development to grow on four sides namely the physical development, the moral development, the emotion development and the wisdom development all of which lead one to the goal of life depending on the readiness of each person that is the virtues conducive to benefits in the present time, the virtues conducive to benefits in the future and the virtues conducive to highest goodness.
