Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

              The main objectives of this research  are: i) to study student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province; ii) to compare the student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province, classified by the personal status : sex, age, level of study class, level of Dhamma Studies class and the size of schools; and iii) to study the problems, the suggestions of effective development about propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province. The research is survey research. Data collections are conducted using questionnaire with 316 targets of first year, second and third year students of Dhamma Studies from 22 schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Statistical Program for analysis of Social Science data.  Statistical values of Frequency, Percentage, Average and Standard Deviation were described. t-test was used for two variables. F-test with One-way ANOVA was employed for at least three variables. Statistical significance was conducted using Least Significant Difference (LSD) with .05 level of significance.

 

 

 

Results of the Research were concluded as follows:

1) The overall  student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies  at schools in Phachi District,  Ayutthaya Province  was found  at the high level (  = 3.89). When considered in each aspects, it was also noticed at the high levels in all aspects, namely, i) equipment for teaching, ii) to create an atmosphere in the classroom,  iii) the method of propagation,  iv) equipment and media technologies, and v) a method of propagation.

2) With regard to comparison of student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province, classified by the personal status : sex, age, level of study class, level of Dhamma Studies class and the size of schools, it was found that student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province with the different of age, level of study class and the size of schools was statistically different at .05 level of significance, therefore the hypotheses were accepted. However, student’s satisfaction towards propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province with  the different of sex and level of Dhamma Studies class was not statistical significance, therefore the hypotheses were rejected.

3) For the problems, the suggestions of effective development about propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province, it was found that:

The problems were as follows: i) Equipment for teaching, such as no enough equipment for teaching, ii) To create an atmosphere in the classroom, such as there was no classroom context for promoting morality and ethics in particular, iii)The method of propagation, such as no various measuring student’s knowledge before and after school, iv) Equipment and media technologies, such as the existing equipment and media technologies were less developed and advanced, and v) A method of propagation, such as there were a few demonstrative and comparative examples.

The suggestions of effective development about propagation of Dhamma Studies at schools in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province offers the following guidelines: i) Equipment for teaching should be used to teach up to date, ii) To create an atmosphere in the classroom, for example, there should be encouraged to promote morality and ethics in particular, especially to provide access to the Triple Gem that is more concrete, iii) The method of propagation should be extended to test students knowledge before and after studying, iv) Equipment and media technologies, such as the development of innovative teaching and research should be diversified to meet the needs of learners, and v) A method of propagation should be developed, such as there should be demonstrated or compared the examples for more concrete form.
